Co-Founders Gary Metcalf and Brian Leto start Collie's parent company, Cadence Sports, in a South Austin garage. The dream was simply to start a 'sports company' and make a difference.
As former soccer players, we found themselves deeply intrigued with Austin's vibrant endruance scene and the timing was serendipitous. We were contracted to help manage the upstart LIVESTRONG Challenge series that consisted of 4 cause-related ride/run events around the country. It is here, we were first introduced to peer-to-peer fundraising and its overall impact on a mission.
Slowly but surely, we amassed an incredible portfolio of clients both on the managment and infrastructure side. Currently, Cadence manages 5 of the top 10 top cause-related cycling events plus numerous other running/walking/cycling projects. Our infrastructure division maintains 60,000+ feet of fencing and numerous structures that services 150+ events each year.
Uh oh. March of 2020 was not a lot of fun! With the event industry on hold for an indefinite amount of time, we decided to act on an initiative that had been long discussed to fill a hole in our industry - develop a smart and intuitive event software. Now was the time. After all, time was on our side in 2020! The Collie idea was born and in September of 2020 we officially began early phases of development.
The time has finally come. Software development is hard and not for the faint of heart. The entire Cadence team plus clientele have provided input into the system. We are just getting started and hope that you enjoy our early stage product.
